Katia Porro is a curator, writer and translator. She is currently the director of In extenso (Clermont-Ferrand) and the magazine La Belle Revue. She is a member of AICA, co-president of La Tôlerie (art space, Clermont-Ferrand) and member of the Drac Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes commission Aide individuelle à la création/Aide à l’installation.
In 2020-21, she was Associate Director of the Amant Siena residency. She has also previously held various positions in various art institutions and galleries (Galerie Allen, KADIST Paris, Palais de Tokyo) and has curated exhibitions in France and abroad (Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, Paris; Gether Contemporary Copenhagen; Doc !, Paris; Treize, Paris; monopôle, Lyon; Palais Bondy, Lyon; SIC Space, Helsinki) and off-site projects. Katia Porro has published texts in various publications (Revue 02, the Journal of Modern Craft, KLIMA, Disegno) and works as a translator for various magazines, publishing houses, institutions and galleries (Palais de Tokyo; Fondation d’entreprise Hermès; AWARE…).
She holds a Masters in Contemporary Art and Curation (L’art contemporain et son exposition) from Sorbonne Université – Faculté des Lettres, as well as an M.A. in the History of Design and Curatorial Studies from Parsons Paris – The New School.
Katia develops research around the social and political dimensions of the built environment (domestic; urban); interiors and architecture (physical; psychological); the absurdity of dominant systems (administrative, governmental), the object as a vehicle for affects; language and translation; as well as regression and vulnerability as forms of power.

She was born in Florida to Cuban parents and is currently based in France.
